About

Patrice Matthews draws from a vibrant array of Caribbean influences to create her art. With a lifelong passion for painting, sewing, writing, and crafting, she embraced the Covid-19 pandemic as an opportunity to explore something new in collage art. Her journey began with simple cut-out and cardboard art and has evolved into more complex collages made from upcycling and transforming discarded materials into captivating works of art. Patrice's work is known for its intricate designs and realistic portrayals, with a particular fondness for hummingbird and animal themes.  Her talents were formally recognized in 2021 when she was registered as a visual artist by the Artist Registry of Trinidad and Tobago. Patrice's artwork has been showcased in numerous exhibitions organized by Women in Art T&T, ThinkArtworkTT Studio (TAW), the Trinidad and Tobago Art Society (TTAS), the Rotunda Gallery of the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago, and Horizons Art Gallery. Her pieces have garnered appreciation both locally and internationally, finding homes across the globe.
